Google searches have been used to track the spread of flu (as people google 'flu symptoms' and similar), and now someone has applied the same principle to real estate -

Looks like it correlates reasonably well. It has to be a reasonable surrogate for market sentiment at least.

Given the RE industry is plus or minus 10% for auction results it would be hard to do worse.

Wow. that is amazing. Google really is getting a hold of all the knowledge out there - now they're getting into real estate trends too.
