About the pension loan scheme

Just read the thread on the pension loan scheme and discovered I'm not allowed to post there for some reason.

Noel Whittaker was spruiking this scheme as an alternative to reverse mortgages. IR = 5.2%. since i'd never heard about it i thought i'd post.

the date on the fact sheet is 2008, so i wonder if it was brought in as a housing prop in the gfc.

I just wanted to say that the scheme has been around for far longer than that so zaph's cynicism is unfounded. I don't know when it was introduced but there's a page referring to it here which hasn't been updated since 2004.
